Dear Colleague, I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to become part of a dynamic, statewide organization for learning assistance professionals and developmental educators. I’d also like to thank you for your service to students all across our state. By becoming a member of ILSADE, you join a professional organization working collectively to make a difference in the lives of our students. ILSADE is the state chapter of NADE, the National Association of Developmental Educators. As an ILSADE member, you can expect to find friendships and collegial relationships with other people engaged in addressing the same or similar challenges that you face every day. Our yearly conferences provide a forum for such interchange, along with highly renowned quest speakers and presenters. In addition, the organization publishes a newsletter to keep you informed on important events affecting our profession. By becoming a member, you can look forward to receiving the fall and spring issues of the ILSADE Newsletter online at www.ilsade.org. You will also get the latest news about upcoming conferences to enhance your professional development. Did you know that ILSADE is the voice of learning specialists and developmental educators in Illinois? We have worked closely with ICCB and IHBE to formulate educational policy and direction for developmental education in Illinois. Take a moment to fill out the enclosed application (Microsoft Word document) and return it to me with your check for $15 for the annual membership dues. Your support is vital to our collective efforts to make a difference in the education of our students. Chairperson, Membership Committee
